.. Quarterly announces “protracted orwellian conflict”
okay am i the only one seriously freaked out when i read the following:
The events of 11 September 2001 confirmed this broader view. Suddenly, with the force of a Pearl Harbor, the direct linkage of the American homeland to US national security returned. The result is a national sense of anxiety, uncertainty, and vulnerability similar to that of the early years of the Cold War. As in those years, the American public is coming to realize that a global war on terrorism will require a state of constant mobilization and readiness for a protracted Orwellian conflict in which war and peace are virtually indistinguishable.
this quote is verbatim from http://carlisle-www.army.mil/usawc/Parameters/02winter/jablonsk.htm which is the journal of the us army’s war college.. is that language not frightening coming from an official publication of the united states military?
if this frightens you check out http://carlisle-www.army.mil/usawc/Parameters/a-index.htm for a shit-ton of scary ass papers about what is happening RIGHT NOW inside the military machine. be sure to check out Thomas, Timothy L. ?Al Qaeda and the Internet: The Danger of ?Cyberplanning.?? too.
